W. Alex Coley, Principal and co-founder of Jacksonville, Florida-based NAI Hallmark, is a well recognized thought leader in the US commercial real estate sector. He is a stalwart of the Jacksonville business community, a vocal proponent of conscious capitalism and actively involved in each aspect of the company’s business including development, brokerage and property management. Hallmark’s signature project currently underway is the $40 million 220 Riverside mixed-use apartments/retail project and adjacent Unity Plaza, Jacksonville’s premier ‘central park’ and the new gateway to downtown Jacksonville. Mr. Coley is credited with a decade-long effort to spark the revitalization of downtown Jacksonville’s Brooklyn neighborhood.

Background & Experience

Mr. Coley has been involved in the commercial real estate industry since 1977 and was previously associated with Wilson Development Company. This Jacksonville, Florida-based real estate development company operated commercial and residential properties in various southeastern cities. Mr. Coley was involved in all aspects of developing and managing a portfolio of over one and one-half million square feet of office and light industrial space.

Education

Mr. Coley is a licensed Florida Real Estate Broker, a Florida Mortgage Broker, a Chartered Financial Analyst, earned a degree in Banking and Finance from the University of North Florida and completed Executive Education in Real Estate from Harvard University.

Professional Associations & Designations

Mr. Coley’s professional affiliations include the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) where he served as a member of the National Board of Directors and President of the Northeast Florida Chapter. Mr. Coley is also an active member of the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA), the Financial Analysts Federation (FAF), the Association for Investment Management and Research (AIMR) and multiple roles with the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce.
